Belfield
Tracy Belfield is an experienced educator and consultant who has dedicated her career to supporting students of various ages and abilities. Her journey in education began as a paraprofessional and has taken her across multiple states, including Tennessee and Louisiana, where she excelled as a teacher and later stepped into leadership roles such as Special Education Building Coach and Assistant Director of Special Education for a large district.
Currently, Tracy serves as a Field Training Coordinator for the Kentucky Autism Training Center, where she supports schools in implementing evidence-based practices to best serve autistic students. Her work centers on professional development, utilizing coaching model frameworks and implementation science to help educators and families create meaningful change. Tracy is deeply committed to presuming competency, particularly with non-speaking individuals, and emphasizes neuro-affirming, trauma-informed approaches in all her work. She champions Universal Design for Learning, recognizing that strategies supporting autistic students often benefit entire classrooms, making implementation more sustainable for teachers.
With a diverse background spanning business, teaching, and special education, Tracy brings extensive knowledge to her role. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Austin Peay State University with dual certification in Learning and Behavior Disorders and Mild/Moderate Disabilities, a Director of Special Education Certification, and a Specialist in Education with a focus on Administration and Supervision from Eastern Kentucky University. Her active involvement in the Council for Exceptional Children reflects her unwavering dedication to ensuring individuals with disabilities receive the best education and resources available.
Throughout her career, Tracy has witnessed the transformative power of quality instruction and evidence-based support. She thrives on collaborating with educators to develop innovative, practical strategies that create optimal learning environments. Tracy's commitment extends beyond the classroom—she is passionate about equipping students with resources to succeed academically and flourish as they transition into adulthood and enrich their communities.
In her free time, Tracy loves deepening her relationship with the Lord, quilting and exploring creative projects, connecting with friends, and continuing to advocate for individuals with disabilities.
