Lauren Tanner is an EPIC Professional Learning Specialist who supports educators through instructional leadership and curriculum-based coaching. With a background in interdisciplinary literacy, she coaches K–12 English Language Arts and partners with schools to implement high-quality instructional resources across Kentucky.

She holds a BA in English with a concentration in Secondary Education from Western Kentucky University, along with an MS in Curriculum and Instruction and an EdS in Instructional Leadership with Principal certification. Lauren’s expertise includes curriculum-based coaching, secondary literacy, and the Science of Reading. She is certified in Instructional and Kagan Coaching, has completed Year 1 of LETRS, and has participated in professional learning through the Harvard Graduate School of Education focused on argumentation, empathy, and evidence-based discourse.

Lauren has led professional learning for secondary educators on the Science of Reading, argumentation, civil discourse, writing instruction, questioning, and the responsible use of AI in classrooms and was a contributing writer to Fifty Strategies to Boost Cognitive Engagement by Dr. Stobaugh. She believes reading is a fundamental right and that access to high-quality instruction gives every student the opportunity to succeed.

Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending time with her three children.
